Just a girl having a conversation with her sister about chili and her love for beans! I love to eat hearty meals that I can prepare with the quickness, so this is definitely a winner for me. Also, when I think of meal prep., I ask myself a few questions: where is my protein, fiber/whole grains and veggies? With a meal like chili, soup or even stew; you can go crazy and really load up on the vegetables. Veggies and beans pack fiber. Fiber keeps you feeling full!! Besides staying fuller longer...fiber also fights cholesterol! #PowPow
So, fill up, eat well and lower cholesterol all at the same time. Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing, whenever I make chili I never thought of it has being a way to meal prep. It was always a quick and easy dish that provided a hearty, filling meal for my whole family. I will be looking at different chili recipes in the very near future
ReplyDeleteYes! Very quick dish everyone can enjoy! Pack in those veggies and stretch your meal!
DeleteChili is one thing that I love and I've never seen it prepared like that before. Looks really good and I can't wait to prepare in that fashion.. Man that looks good..!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the idea. Give it a try and let us know of the outcome!
ReplyDeleteIt looks delicious I want to eat some now... would u suggest to use more veggies or meat?what should I stay away from as far as starches ? Bc some starch is good no?
ReplyDeleteI'd suggest using more veggies. Not only will it help to stretch the meal but you get more plant protein and fiber from the beans and all the other veggies u choose! Keep in mind all the benefits of fiber ;)
DeleteAs far as starch is concerned, always aim for starches from whole grains: sweet potato, corn tortillas, brown rice, hot/cold cereal and low calorie whole grain bread just to name a few.
